This listing is for 10 kilo's, (22 pounds) of pure Bentonite Clay Powder from the La Fortuna Mine in northern Chile.  
Mina La Fortuna is a small family owned Bentonite mine. It's located several hours south of the town of Arica in the barren Atacama desert of northern Chile. The Atacama is so barren NASA has used it to conduct trials on its Moon rover vehicles. There is just nothing out there, well, nothing but dirt and rocks. But underneath all that nothing is a super abundance of minerals.

I live in Chile now and recently I was talking with a Chilean friend about eBay and how it reaches a worldwide audience. I discovered that his family owned a mine and had been wanting to expand sales but didn't know what to do. They basically had been using the Bentonite only amongst themselves and next-door neighbors and occasionally selling small bags of powdered Bentonite to a couple of local beauty shops for use as facial masks. After I explained how eBay works I think Tomas had a lightbulb turn on over his head ;-)  when he realized the reach and power of eBay. They asked me to help them, as none of them speak English and have no idea how to go about setting up an eBay account or eBay store or doing auctions. Thus the zero feedback at this point. Pay Pal is accepted and is the prefered method of payment. It is very costly to cash International Postal Money Orders in Chile so we can not accept them. Accepting personal checks from outside the country would again incur substantial bank fees here in Chile. We are not against other payment methods but PayPal makes the most sense for us at this time. We had a geologist from the Univ. of Tarapaca come out to the mine to take samples to determine the content and quality of the Bentonite. As far as he knows there is apparently no other source of Bentonite in Chile. Here are the results of the tests. 
Chemical elements: SiO2 67.16%  Al2O3 16.09%  SO3 8.27%  CaO 2.64%  Fe2O3 2.62%  K2O 2.45%  TiO2 0.43%  BaO 0.19%  MnO 0.06% Chemical parameters: pH/H2O 8.66  PH/KCl 8.30  C.E 1:5 0.28 mS/cm a 25 celcius  P 3.78 mg-Kg  Carbono organico 0.17%  Mat organica 0.29%  Ca 153.28 mg/kg  Na 611.12 mg/kg. In other words, the quality is excellent and Mina La Fortuna is the only source for pure Chilean pharmacuetical grade calcium Bentonite powder. "Bentonite's minute partical size is related to the number of minerals comprising it's molecule. The smaller the number of minerals in its molecule, the greater is the adsorbtive power..."  Mina La Fortuna Bentonite contains only... minerals in its molecular structure. Other Bentonite clays contain seventy or more minerals.
